Sony Hall

Your own ShowGo station: 30 seconds of every band coming to Sony Hall, openers included, with ticket links. Free to use anywhere.

Your link

Put it in your emails, your bio, your posts and your website. It always plays every show we know of at your room, months ahead, and new shows appear on their own as they are announced.

Social card

This is what people see when your link is posted or texted. It updates with your next shows. Download it to post on its own, too.

For your newsletter

Email can't play music, so this is your card with your next three nights and one button. Readers land on your page, where every band plays. Paste it into an HTML or code block (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Klaviyo and most others). Where there is no code block, like Substack, download the social card above as the picture and use Copy link for a button.

Questions

The basics

What is ShowGo?
A radio of every band playing near you: 30 seconds of every act on every bill, openers included, one after another. Your page plays every band coming to Sony Hall, so people hear who is playing before they decide to come.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. There is no account to make, no contract and no fee on tickets. Tickets on your page go to the ticket link from your listing, or straight to your own ticket page when the show comes from your calendar.
Do I have to sign up or keep anything up to date?
No. Your page fills itself from the listings and, if you connect it, your own website's calendar. New shows appear as they are announced and past ones drop off.
Can I add photos and know-before-you-go details?
Yes. Send us up to six photos of the room and a few facts: ages, seated or standing, parking, drinks, food, bags, access, your house rule, and whether shows sell out. They show under Visit on your page as Know before you go. Use the note at Connect your calendar, or tell us when we get in touch.
Who makes ShowGo?
One person, as a personal experiment at ant.cat in finding shows by ear. It is not a ticket seller and it has no ads.

Your shows

Where do my shows come from?
Ticketmaster, SeatGeek, JamBase and Bandsintown, plus your own website's calendar when you connect it. When a listing names only the headliner, ShowGo looks at the tour's recent set lists on setlist.fm and plays the usual opener, marked “Likely”.
A show is missing or an opener is wrong. How do I fix it?
The surest way is to connect your calendar (Connect your calendar): if your website runs The Events Calendar on WordPress or publishes an iCal (.ics) link, every show you post there plays here, with your ticket links. Use the same form's note to tell us about anything else that is wrong.
A show was cancelled or moved.
Take it off your own calendar and it leaves your page the next time ShowGo reads it (about twice a day). Shows that only a ticketing site lists leave once the site stops listing them, within 30 days at most.
How far ahead does it go?
About six months: every show we know of from today on.
Where do door times and prices come from?
From the listing, when it gives them: doors from JamBase, face value from Ticketmaster or JamBase. When a listing leaves them out, your page shows the show time alone. Your ticket page always has the final word.

The music

Where does the music come from?
The official 30 second previews from Apple Music and Deezer, the same ones their stores play. When a band has no preview anywhere, it plays the band's live session from KEXP or NPR's Tiny Desk, or another live clip on YouTube, shown in the player.
A band plays the wrong music, or none.
Small bands sometimes share a name with someone else. ShowGo only plays a band whose name matches exactly, so a wrong match is rare, but it happens: tell us in the note at Connect your calendar and we fix that band for every station.
Can listeners buy tickets or follow bands?
Tickets opens your ticket link. Keep saves a band with its date and ticket link in the listener's browser, the band's card (···) opens the song in Spotify, Apple Music and other apps, and Watch live plays a live clip.

Using the kit

Where should I put my link?
Your Instagram or TikTok bio, your Linktree, your Google Business Profile, your email signature, and every show announcement (“hear who's opening”). The link never changes, so you set it once.
Which website size should I use?
Wide for an events page, Sidebar for a narrow column next to other things, Short under a single show or on your home page. Paste the code into a Custom HTML block (WordPress), a Code block (Squarespace) or an Embed HTML element (Wix). Pick Light if your site is white.
Does the card update by itself?
The card behind your link is drawn from your next three nights, fresh at least every hour. Apps like iMessage and Instagram keep the picture they first saw in a post, so share the link again for a new show. A downloaded card is a snapshot: good for a one-off post.
Tips that help
Post your link the week of a show with the opener's name in the caption. Put the player on your events page, where people already decide. Add the newsletter block to every show email. Tell your staff and bands the link: anyone can share it.

Not yet, if you want it

Can I get a page for a festival or a series?
Not yet. Pages are for rooms. A festival's bands play on the radio for its area, and a series plays on the page of the room it is in. A page that follows one festival or series across rooms is something we could build next.Tap if you would. It tells us what to build next.
Can bands use this too?
Not yet as a page of their own. Any listener, band included, can share a song from the radio with its next show attached. A band page that plays its own dates and openers is something we could build next.Tap if you would. It tells us what to build next.
Can my page say when a show sells out?
Not yet. The listings ShowGo reads do not say reliably when a show is sold out, so Tickets always opens the ticket page, which does. Marking sold out nights from your own calendar is something we could build next.Tap if you would. It tells us what to build next.
Can I pin or promote a show?
Not yet. Every band plays in turn, soonest night first, and no one can pay to move up. Pinning one of your own shows to the top of your page is something we could build next.Tap if you would. It tells us what to build next.

Numbers and privacy

Can I see how many people listen?
ShowGo counts how often your page is opened, bands are heard, kept and ticket links are opened, and where people came from (your link, your website, your newsletter). A view for venues is coming; until then, ask in the note at Connect your calendar and we send you your numbers.
Can people review us?
There are no stars and no reviews. People who have been can leave a practical tip (“street parking fills by 7:30”), and nothing shows until we have read it. Tell us at Connect your calendar if a tip should come down.
Does ShowGo track my fans?
No. There are no accounts and no ads, and nothing is kept about who listened: only counts per day.
Can I take my venue off ShowGo?
Yes. Ask in the note at Connect your calendar and we take your page down.
